Maundy Thursday at the Greyhound, Besselsleigh

Maundy Thursday at the Greyhound, Besselsleigh

Last week here, and

Next week here

Felt like the week of running was ‘phoned in’ but it looks okay on paper.  I started out behind on mileage from last week and hectic days around the lab meant hitting my targets was a little difficult but I had some pleasant trots even for the short ones.

Maundy Thursday I slipped away from the lab at 4:15 to start the weekend and ran to the bus stop in Besselsleigh arriving just as the 5:08 bus passed; stranded for another 20 minutes I took some solace in the Greyhound with a pint of White Horse Brewery’s Black Beauty.

I spent Friday gathering some documentation and preparing an incredibly long application form, finally finishing six hours after starting.  Needing to decompress, I made up some of the mileage deficit with a loop through Wichelstowe.

An Easter trip and an overdue recovery week resulted in the long run coming on Saturday, again, and then only planned for 20 miles (which I underestimated slightly).

Finally, the Sunday run had to be rushed in before heading out to Salisbury for an overnight trip.  Birds were singing in the pre-dawn Spring morning and my sore joints loosened up before reaching the bottom of Brimble Hill.  The ascent was slow but the return in the cloudy twilight was effortless.  I love a four-day weekend, me.
