Running Week in Review 26 April 2015   2 comments

Last week here, and

Next week here

2015-04-26 weekly run chart

Another heavier running week than I might usually do has now passed with my 7 day sums staying consistently above 60 miles until today when I felt absolutely exhausted.  Next week is a fallback set before the next increase in intensity so it was nice to bag the planned ~15 mile run at about the halfway mark.  There were plenty of things that caught my attention this week, too, not least of which being this upcoming show in town:

We get far too many cover bands in Swindon but at least this one has a hook (and it doesn’t hurt that they rock and perform half dressed).

On Saturday’s run, I spotted this poorly thought out sign in Cheltenham (maybe they don’t know the Big Sleep is another name for the Eternal Lawn Nap, or maybe they’re just Chandler fans):

The long run started in Cheltenham and took in four pubs (the Restoration, the Air Balloon, the Carpenter’s Arms, and the Daneway); I also managed to hit another pub Friday after a hospital appointment (the Royal Oak).  It was a hilly jog and the wind was cool and fierce although the day was generally warm.  The first map here is of the first 5 miles up to the Air Balloon, the second taking in the last 15 or so into Cirencester:

I always see something new and glorious in Cirencester…this trip I thought the attraction would be the 3 mile run down the Great Ride in Cirencester Park as the Church loomed ever larger but I was once more surprised by the little town when I found these bunny people hidden away down an alley:
