Hayman's Fisheries Oxford haddock and chips

I spotted Hayman’s as I passed through the Osney Mead Industrial Estate on a commuter run into work last week and was intrigued that they have a chippy inside the fish distribution warehouse.  Planning to jog over for lunch, I’m glad I checked the opening times as they only serve Fridays and then only from 11:45 – 1:45.  The ugly surroundings and odd hours notwithstanding, they are probably right to claim the freshest fish and chips in the county.  This week’s choice was haddock, one of my favourites because it actually tastes fishy.  The chips were nothing special and the mushy peas a bit bland but the fish carried the day.  Only £3.95 and you leave full enough to make the rest of the run a little difficult.
