An Spailin Fanac Cork

We were wandering around after dinner hoping to find a pub with traditional music that we could settle into and see in the New Year.  An Spailpín Fánac emerged ahead of us on the South Main so we gave it a go (I remembered the name from researching music venues for the trip last week).

Inside it was dark and cavernous and there was a coal fire going and only about 20 people, including staff, in the building which also has a massive upstairs area.  Alas, no music for the evening but a stonking pub to hang out in.

I had the first of many Beamish Stouts (the pub is across the street from the Beamish and Crawford Brewery) to come the next few days while Jackie stuck to cider (here and for the rest of the night).
