Sir Percy Florence Shelley Bournemouth

About 6 miles into the day’s run, I fancied a beer…a dark beer, in fact, something ‘breakfast-y’ to fight the chill and to energize the legs for the rest of the run back to central Bournemouth. It was early but I figured that even a bog-standard Wetherspoons would do. That’s what I got out of the Sir Percy Florence Shelley: bog-standard Wetherspoons and a pint of luscious porter at 9 am when most publicans are still adrift in the embrace of Morpheus.

Technically in Bournemouth, the nearby rail station is called “Pokesdown for Boscombe”  which sounds more like an 80’s techno band than a municipality. While we’re on names, the pub is named, by the way, for the son of Percy Bysshe Shelley and Mary Shelley.

Here’s the map.
