Lillie Langtry Kilburn London

The Lillie Langtry is the sort of pub I adore: quiet, local, cheap and a little grubby.  I grew up around places like this where everyone knows one another (which could be a stranger’s curse but no one paid me the slightest attention despite running in wearing the skimpiest of running shorts and a sweat soaked and threadbare bright orange t-shirt).

On the edge of a block of council housing but also at the expensive end of Abbey Road (just up from those record studios you’ve heard about…you know, where Saucer Full of Secrets and Afrodisiac were recorded), this is a bar for real people surrounded by the capitalist shit hole North London has become.

And, the August 2016 Pub Per Day Challenge continues….

Not exactly a Glass Onion to look through (you knew there’d be a Beatles reference, didn’t you?)
