See the Rockingham Arms, just visited, for a related experience.

I entered the Fox & Goose to find one customer ahead of me being served an order of four pints by the only one of six bar staff who wasn’t rushing around and giving the appearance of doing nothing at all.  At, least, nothing that they were doing would preclude taking my order.  The one that was working there looked up as she struggled to lift the tray (where do they get these people?) and promised to take my order shortly.

A few more minutes passed and three guys came in; one of the other faux bartenders asked what they wanted and as they started placing their wussy drinks order, I looked at them then at the tender and asked, “da fuck you call this?”

Startled, the dimwit replied, “I thought you’d been served.”

Waving my hand slowly across the empty expanse of bar before me, I said, “SHOULD’VE been, but that was ten minutes ago.”

It’s a pretty house, inside.  You’ll have time to look around.
