Ye Olde Crowne Hayes

 

Ye Olde Crowne? Ye Gods and little fishes, what a nice pub, as well!

Another remarkably humid and, for here, warm day found me boiling sweat from every pore as I entered the dark confines of Ye Crowne. I had only traversed the scant league from the Carpenter’s, but the two houses could not have been more different. While the Carpenter’s is fine for what it is, Ye Crowne is civilised (and tidy).

And, they have well-kept ale on at least one of the three pumps (the only choice this afternoon was Timothy Taylor Landlord but when I asked for it the bartender proudly pointed out, “that’s a good drop.”

And, they have top of the line entertainment. I know Dylan will play anywhere, but I’ve never really understood why so many music critics refer to him as a chameleon. Unfortunately, my weekends are booked solid in September:
