Albert, Bow, London   2 comments

I don’t really consider the Albert one of the London Irish Bars, per se, but the landlord definitely sounds the part.  The customers that joined me this early lunchtime (I had just finished a pot of jellied eels) all sounded VERY local, though, like Del Boy from Only Fools and Horses.  I felt especially under dressed (sweatpants and a sweat soaked t-shirt), but these suited fellows assured me that they were there for the funeral of another local, one Terry Simmons (rest well, sir) whose last party would start at his house around the corner, proceed through the park and end up there at the bar.  I do love the East End, me.
