Good Yarn, Uxbridge, Middlesex   Leave a comment

My run was perfectly timed and I ran in the front door of the Good Yarn at precisely 9 am and got the darkest ale on the pumps, a Sambrook Battersea Rye.  With the house empty, I spent a moment chatting with the bartender about the place which is surprisingly deep (it looks tiny from the street).  It was a tailor’s shop but only from the late 1960’s to 1980’s (and not, as she had it, from the mid-19th century although the company did start back then).

A guy that had been sitting patiently across the High Street entered and I went to find a good seat near the door to watch a steady stream of early drinkers file in over the next 20 minutes or so.

When I left, I ran out by the “Mind walkway” but cannot imagine what that is supposed to mean.  Having watched a sausage party of about 25 dudes come into the bar (the only lady there was taking beer orders), I think I understand why the area beside the bar is called “Johnsons Yard.”  Fnarr-fnarr.
