Marquis, Charing Cross, London   Leave a comment

We only had a coffee and some toast for breakfast and the March in the cold left us famished.  We left the crowd at Trafalgar Square and settled on the Marquis for a late lunch.

The Upstairs Bar is a bit misnamed since it is for dining, only, and our hostess had to keep chasing drinkers back downstairs.  You can’t see the woman in the corner, but her Elmer Fudd laugh might have put them off better than our server did.

The food was alright and the bottle of Shiraz okay.  You can’t fault the location, though, and the building is lovely.  The downstairs bar has large windows on the street, too, so good viewing to be had there.
