Woodie’s Freehouse, New Malden, Surrey   1 comment

The trail to Woodie’s was the longest stretch so far this day but would be followed by a longer still segment and I was already feeling like a beaten man. This stop would be welcome despite the unappealing exterior of the house. It’s on a sports ground out in the middle of the boondocks, so I shouldn’t have really expected much, anyway.

However, inside the space was richly appointed, warm and welcoming. There were ales to choose from and mine was a cracker which I toted outside to sit in the sun with and watch the grass grow and the very rare vehicle arrive down at this dead-end drive. I felt revived.
