Moderation, Hull, East Riding   Leave a comment

My trip to Hull started really early Saturday morning (my train was out of King’s Cross just after 7am).  So, I was ready for a vacation beer on arrival despite it being only 10am.  I headed toward a Wetherspoons but spotted the comically named Moderation on the way.

It was busy with a stream of people just popping in for a shot of one thing or another.  Brilliant.  Also, it was my introduction to low pub pricing up North: my pint was only £2.20.

Friendly house, I thought, as everyone gave me a ‘toorah’ as I left but Ii came to realise — as the day wore on into the night, that this was pretty normal for Hull.
