Warren Wood, Buckhurst Hill, Essex   1 comment

The Warren Wood was an odd little pub.  It isn’t especially near a bunch of housing that I could tell of but it definitely had the atmosphere of a local.  I think I was the only runner but there were many walkers with their various maps and guides, and cyclists kept pedaling in and out throughout my visit.

The food looked fantastic, though.  Outside, there is a barbecue type vendor that is part of the pub selling boiled prawns and grilled meats.  If I didn’t have 10-15 miles facing me, I might have filled up right there.

And, the atmosphere is anarchic.  The bartender and manager are professional and level-headed (and funny), but they preside over bedlam despite it only being 11:30 on a Sunday morning.  Marvelous.
