The Star and Garter, Soho, London   2 comments

Wednesday was a miserable day for the W run, but there I was in the deluge.  My first stop was the Star and Garter, warm and welcoming and with a fine pint of London Pride awaiting me.  I was one of only two guests for the bar man to deal with but it was just after 11 am and I’m sure the house filled soon.

The telly was showing an episode of Rising Damp, an early attempt at political correctness coupled with healthy doses of racism, class warfare, and misogyny (and VERY funny).  The walls in the pub were likewise entertaining with photos from the last 7 decades covering about 80% of the free space.  This is a comfy pub and not too expensive considering the location; definitely worthy of a longer visit soon.
