The Park Tavern, Southfields, London   Leave a comment

Pub #2092:

The run continued from the Spread Eagle and across King George Park to the Park Tavern.  On my shortlist only about ¼ as long as the Falcon has been, it would only disappoint someone ridiculous enough to go to two other listed and spectacular pubs on the same crawl.  Here’s the registry entry for this one: http://pubheritage.camra.org.uk/pubs/historic-pub-interior-entry.asp?NatPubID=SWL%2F2883

The barman apologised for placing “Reserved for” notices on the various other populated tables, but the couple of guys in the window seat must’ve made arrangements earlier.  It looked, for all the world, that the younger of the two was interviewing the exceedingly eccentric older man at some length.

Take a look at these guys but also at the table.  There was always a full beer for each of them as they ploughed through (hopefully more than only) the preceding beverage.  I am in love with this place and only wish I could afford to live in the neighbourhood where this is the local.
