The Spread Eagle, Wandsworth, London   3 comments

Pub #2091:

Wow.  Two historic pub interiors in a row.  Attracting my attention for the chase seen on the bar sign (run, rabbit, run!) The Spread Eagle sits near the corner where my run was planned to turn south for a while and looked inviting from without; within, it is a treasure.

It also seems truly a local house, too.  Save for me, everyone seemed to know one another and, had I stayed for as few as one more round, they would have had my full history as well.

Speaking of history…how long has this dust been accumulating?

Here’s the National Registry entry which is much more effusive on the pub’s architectural importance.
